Since 10 years Jan Peters is the executive director of Roona International Expeditiebedrijf BV.  Prior to this function he used to work at a wholesaler as a logistics manager and gained more than 15 years of experience there. Furthermore Jan Peters does have the Dutch entrepreneur Degree “Beroepsgoederenvervoer National en Internationaal”. After his Business Administration studies at the University of Groningen he fulfilled different management functions such as marketing, process automation, administration and logistics.

In 2003 Jan Peters started at Roona International Expeditiebedrijf BV as executive director and developed the company since then to one of the leading logistics service provider in the North of the Netherlands. As executive director Jan is very satisfied with the level of expertise within his colleagues. This professional and customer orientated working method leads to satisfied customers which are loyal to Roona throughout many years.

In his spare time Jan likes to ride on his bicycle and when its freezing outside he likes ice-skating. Furthermore Jan enjoys an athletic and challenging destination for his holidays. From winter sports in the Alps to a self-organized excursion through India or Nepal. Jan’s future vision of Roona is to realize a steady growth without losing the focus on the quality.

George is involved at Roona since the very first day, 32 years ago. He is focused on giving advice about the set-up and organization of new transport solutions as well as consulting the customers. George is an expert of the transport sector especially regarding to road freight, air freight, sea freight, and courier express, the customs and the handling of customs documents. George enjoys the different activities, the daily challenges of Roona and the collaboration with various people at both national and international level. These contacts are often maintained on an informal but professional manner.

In addition to his work at Roona, George has a great passion for long motorcycle trips where he discovers different cultures with his Harley and meets interesting people. Also, he likes to go out for a meal with his family. Concerning his ambitions for the future George thinks the further development of Roona’s logistics service activities – to guarantee a flexible and professional support for the customer – is the most important target. Further qualifications of George include the Dutch entrepreneur Degree “Beroepsgoederenvervoer National en Internationaal”, Document handling for freight forwarders, Incoterms 2010, Diploma Fenex, Netherlands Association for forwarding and logistics in collaboration with the shipping and transport College in Rotterdam, IATA diploma for International Freight Forwarding to Zurich, ADRhazardous materials.

Planner Remko Gon van Roona ExpeditiebedrijfRemko Gon, Logistics Coordinator

Remko is since 20 years employed at Roona and responsible for the planning of transport orders. Remko is the one who ensures that as well as the customers as the chauffeur always know exactly when they can expect a specific transport. With his years of experience he is an outstanding coordinator and always ensures that all transport orders succeed without any problems. No task is too complicated; therefore he always ensures that the customer gets what he wants and especially when he wants it. Remko does have a MTS education (technical secondary school degree) and a certificate of ADR hazardous materials for the transport of dangerous goods.

Anita works since approximately 27 years at Roona International Expeditiebedrijf BV, where she has the reputation of being a very enthusiastic employee. She started at Roona immediately after her apprenticeship at the MEAO Staten School in Emmen. Anita enjoys both the contact with the customer as well as with her colleagues. The most customers collaborate since years with Roona thus Anita established a warm and friendly relationship with many customers. Years of experience in the area of administration and planning make Anita a valuable and indispensable employee Roona International Expeditiebedrijf BV. She is always happy to help customers or her colleagues when needed and has extensive knowledge of the various aspects in the transport sector. In her spare time Anita and her son Marc enjoy to cheer for “their team” FC Groningen and therefore often visit the stadium of their football club. Furthermore she likes camping, but only in a warm and sunny country. Anita’s ambition is to double her current duration of employment; let’s go to the next 27 years!

Office Assistant/Telephone Operator

Manon is employed as a part time worker and a member of the Roona team since January 1, 2013. At the moment she works two days per week as a telephone operator and Office assistant. Next to her employment at Roona Manon has recently start-up her own Beauty Salon in Groningen. Through this Beauty Salon Manon gained a lot of experience concerning customer orientation. Although Manon just started at Roona in early 2013 she already noticed that she really enjoys the contact with her colleagues and especially with the customers. When Manon isn’t busy with her two jobs she enjoys going out for a dinner with her friends or just indulging herself in a Wellness/Spa Centre. Furthermore Manon likes to fitness and enjoys skiing. Even though she only belongs since recently to the Roona Team she hopes to be a long time member and to strengthen the contact with her colleagues and customers.
